A quick look at the world made it obvious that there had to be another way of being; another way of relating to each other;  a way in which there is no value component to cause us to compare ourselves against others and find ourselves wanting; impacting our identity and self esteem and ultimately manifesting as disease. It was out of this understanding that the Emerald Guild was born to begin the discovery.

After spending considerable time in self-discovery I finally came to the conclusion that the only true path for me was a path of Love and Light.

I have always had a sense of the necessity for community to our wellbeing, and a dream of creating community as an example of exploring ways of being, while avoiding the ego-driven pitfalls of earlier attempts by others.

In 2011 the motivation was so strong towards the dream that I shut down my Business of 40 years, sold up my possessions and through sharing the dream with my Partner, motivated her to do the same.  We came across the land now named Emerald Tor Farm by accident; bought the land there and then and immediately placed it in a charitable trust so that we no longer own it and it can continue in perpetuity as a sustainable forest and wildlife habitat for the benefit of the people.

I studied ‘Permaculture’  with Bill Mollison and Geoff Lawton and we both did our internship with Geoff on his farm at The Channon before arriving on the land in January 2012.  The intention is to use permaculture techniques and work with nature to heal and repair the land and create a sustainable community of soil, plants animals and people.

The Farm is a work in progress with many projects active and many more in the pipeline.
